And so we say so long to August with a triple-decker week of gigs.
Last Saturday we cozied up a duo set for a house party in Bethnal Green. Steve and I played in front of a lovely audience for friend of the band, Blake Anthony Robson’s Birthday Folk night & BBQ. We joined the bill with new band The Barnacles, Dan Raza, Anoushka Lucas, & Blake’s, Black River Wild.
On Tuesday, we curated the very first ‘Hey Banjo!’ at Translate Bar in Shoreditch. A new bar and a new night of music that will hopefully grow and prosper over the coming months. Photo’s below feature the great acts we had for the night, Milly Upton, Jack Joseph Band, & Black River Wild.
Here also is a link to a video taken of our penultimate song that night: an unplugged cover of Gram Parson’s “Hickory Wind” tucked in the audience.
Finally, tomorrow we are off to oxford to close out the Walk The Walls festival tour. Full band and joining a smashing line up of London musicians we will be outdoors in the lovely country setting of The Victoria Arms pub in Old Marston. Music run’s all day with free entry and the good news is the weather’s looking up! xx
